International Symposium of 18th Century and İsmail Gelenbevi In The Context of “Hezarfen Culture”

International Symposium of 18th Century and İsmail Gelenbevi in the Context of “Hezarfen Culture” will be held during 26-28 September 2017 with the collaboration of Hacettepe University and Fatih Gelnebevi Anatolian High School.

This symposium is organized in honor of İsmail Gelenbevi who is known as a polymath and a prominent name of the 18. Century Ottoman science. The aim of the symposium is to provide a basis for a scholarly discussion about the notions of multidisciplinarity and interdisciplinarity, and creativity with all dimensions and socio-cultural dynamics of the 18th century in the frame of the transformative process from oral-written to the electronic cultural context.

The symposium is open to a wide range of participants from researchers to independent researchers, tradition expert students and representatives of institutions related to the subject.

The papers which are accepted by the scientific committee can be presented as oral presentations and poster presentations which will later be published following the event.
